Background

Dr Liadi (Kola) Mudashiru-PhD, MBA, PRINCE 2, began his management career role at Durham University as the Regional Manager for the Middle East and South Asia in the International Office at Durham University in October 2014.

Prior to joining Durham University, Dr Mudashiru spent 13 years at Newcastle University where he received his Master’s, PhD and Executive MBA degrees and worked in various roles; as a research scientist, Research Fellow, Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate/Project Manager and as Internationalisation & Recruitment Officer.

Dr Mudashiru has a solid background in geochemistry with distinguished track record of academic excellence and achievements having worked in multidisciplinary research environment involving laboratory experiments, water chemistry, conventional and unconventional energy, climate change, reservoir modelling and environment.

As an international scientist and researcher Dr Mudashiru has lived and worked in over 15 countries worldwide to date.

[2] Water Chemistry

[3] Processes of energy production from unconventional resources;

[4] clean use of fossil fuels

[5] underground coal gasification

[6] Chemical reactions, equation of states, compositional, kinetics, thermodynamics, CO2 sequestration and fingerprinting;

[7] CO2 sequestration in saline aquifers, depleted gas reservoirs and coal seams;

[8] Environmental chemistry and geochemistry;

[9] Computational fluid dynamics, geochemical and environmental modelling;

[10] Laboratory, experimental and instrumentation, structural elucidation and characterisation using a wide range of analytical facilities including spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.

In his current role at Durham University, Dr Mudashiru is responsible for leading Durham operations and activities in the Middle East and Africa for the International Office which has responsibility for the following main areas:

  • Supporting the Director of the International Office in developing and implementing the institutional Internationalisation strategy in the Middle East and Africa
  • International student Recruitment and Marketing Developing recruitment strategies for the Middle East and Africa International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Admissions Partnerships and networks – management and liaison including institutions, scholarship bodies, networks Supporting departments and faculties in international activities in the Middle East and Africa
